Card of the Week

ACE OF CUPS

Are you ready for a grand love affair? Perhaps the greatest love affair of your life? How well prepared are you to receive this BIG love? Are you equipped to embrace such a wonderful gift? The Ace of Cups marks the beginning of the journey on which Eros and Psyche embark that encompasses and teaches the various stages of ‘relationship’. Their story tells of how our feelings develop and evolve as we endure each lesson. It’s about our capacity to relate to another person, or furthermore, harmonise with that person. Now this notion seems easy enough yes? Well, if only it were that easy….

The Ace of Cups appearing in a reading suggests that the person is ready for, or has a desire for a new development in the area of relationships. Although it heralds the early stages of a relationship, the card is promising as it offers the opportunity for love, joy and fulfillment. As depicted in the image, it represents an overflow of abundance. When The Ace of Cups appears, there is an upsurge of raw, powerful energy that is hard to suppress. So where does this upsurge come from? It stems from none other than Aphrodite, of course. She is after all, the Goddess of Love. Yes, it all began with her and if it weren’t for her, Eros and Psyche may not have ever met! Find out how you can learn more about this myth by clicking here... Now having established the essence of the Ace of Cups is generally positive, we should consider that we, at this stage, are still on our own. Now this is where it can get tricky…. you see although we have a desire to unite with another (I mean who wants to be on their own forever really!), things are a hell of a lot easier when you don’t have to consider another person. Suddenly, it’s not just your stuff you’ve got to deal with, but also the stuff of those of whom you’ve united with. So, this is one of the things we learn at this beginning stage of the journey; if we can just love and be loved, staying in the realm of just LOVE and that’s it, we’ll do well…..but how do we do that?
